With near 30 years, experience in combat sport that started in 1990 Rich Fogarty is regarded as one of the top level striking coaches in Australia. With a fighting career spanning over 12 years, Rich competed in over 50+ fights with a very impressive record in Boxing, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Kyokushin Karate, and Ring Karate.
After a twelve-year fighting career Rich In 2004 retired from competitive fighting and immediately started in a coaching role having a passion to pass on his knowledge to the younger generation.
Over the next few years, he would train mainly Muay Thai fighters with some of the big names such as Warren Elson WMC World Champion & Kurt Finlayson Multiple WMC Champion along with some great young Muay Thai fighters.To add to Rich’s coaching knowledge he would then study over the next 10 years under one of the greats of Boxing Australia’s very own Jeff Fenech three times Boxing World Champion and Boxing hall of famer.
During this time Rich would link up with good friend and fellow Australian UFC fighter Kyle Noke who was based at one of the leading MMA gyms in the world JacksonWinkMMA gym in Albuquerque New Mexico.
Over the next seven years Rich would travel to JacksonWinkMMA gym where not only would he work with and alongside some of the greatest MMA fighters in the world, but would study under two of the greatest MMA coaches in the world Greg Jackson and Mike Winklejohn.
This is where Rich found a whole new passion for coaching where he could use all of his own knowledge of Boxing, Muay Thai, Kickboxing and Karate and put it all together into his MMA style of striking. Over the years of traveling the world with his coaching Rich has been blessed to have not only worked with some of the greatest athletes and coaches in the world but formed great friendships as well.
